1. About Curator

Curator ("we", "us", or "our") is an inventory and valuation tool that helps collectors, resellers, and enthusiasts identify, value, and manage their items. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account.
  • Item Data: Photos, descriptions, valuations, and notes you upload or enter for your inventory items.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the app to improve our service.
  • Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and rate-limiting purposes.
  • Public Scan Data: For anonymous public valuations, we record a hashed IP address solely to enforce usage limits.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Curator service, including AI-powered item identification and valuation.
  • To manage your account, subscriptions, and billing.
  • To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse of our free public valuation feature.
  • To send service-related emails (e.g., account verification, password reset).
  • To analyze aggregate usage trends and improve app performance.

4. Photos and Item Data

Photos you upload are used to perform AI-powered identification and valuation. They are stored securely and associated with your account. Photos submitted through the anonymous public valuation tool are processed for identification purposes only and are not permanently linked to any user profile.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • AI Providers: Photos and item descriptions are sent to AI model providers (such as OpenAI and Google) to perform identification and valuation. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies.
  • Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
  • Analytics: Aggregate, anonymized usage data may be shared with analytics services.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and inventory for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app settings. Anonymous public scan quota records (IP-based) are retained for rate-limiting purposes only and contain no personally identifiable information.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Curator is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below. Account deletion is also available directly within the app settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Curator after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
